The search is on for top facilities management talent across Ireland as the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Ireland region launches this year’s BIFM Ireland Region Awards.
The prestigious awards, sponsored by Facilities People International (FPI), will be celebrated at the industry body’s 21st annual FM Summit, which returns to the newly refurbished National Stadium at Windsor Park in Belfast on Friday 17 November 2017.
The awards recognise and reward the outstanding achievements and excellence of FM professionals across the public, private and voluntary sectors that have made significant contributions to the development of the FM industry in Ireland. This year’s award categories include Ireland Region Young FM Professional of the Year and Ireland Region FM Professional of the Year.
Pat Gaughan, Chair, BIFM Ireland Region said: “We are delighted to announce the return of the BIFM Ireland Region Awards. The awards provide us with a fantastic opportunity to give recognition to professional excellence, and to showcase the work of talented FM professionals across Ireland. Year on year we receive a remarkable amount of entries from high calibre individuals who truly set the bar for this thriving industry.”
Award entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts from across the UK and Ireland, including Avril Behan, Assistant Head at the School of Multidisciplinary Technologies at the College of Engineering & Built Environment of the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Linda Hausmanis, CEO of the British Institute of Facilities Management, and David Gormalley, Senior Facilities Manager at The Guinness Storehouse, and winner of the 2016 Ireland Region FM Professional of the Year Award.
Janet Downer, Director at Facilities People International said, “It is a pleasure to be able to support this year’s BIFM Ireland Region Awards. Celebrating personal achievements alongside those of other professionals is an important aspect of any career and is certainly something which we advocate at FPI. Make sure to highlight your career success and enter this year’s Awards!”
The awards give FM professionals an ideal platform to demonstrate their career accomplishments and commitment to professional development. Recognising his excellent service to The Guinness Storehouse’s 1.5 million annual visitors, David Gormalley was honoured with the Ireland Region FM Professional of the Year Award last year.
Deadline for entries to the BIFM Ireland Region Awards is Friday 3 November at 5pm, with winners announced at the BIFM Ireland FM Summit set to take place on Friday 17th November at the National Stadium at Windsor Park, Belfast.
