The full programme for BIFM’s ThinkFM 2018, which takes place on the 1st May, has been announced by the British Institute for Facilities Management (BIFM).
It will be packed with alerts, insights and suggestions to help FMs prepare themselves and their organisations for the next two years. Topics to be covered include Brexit, debates on how to escape the lowest cost tendering spiral, big data and the rise of the robots, workplace trends and international opportunities for FM’s.
The full programme for the event is now live on the BIFM website and this year contains so much essential information that it has been necessary to provide two streams running concurrently. Delegates will be able to choose which papers are of most interest to them , and so be sure that every minute of the day will be of value.
The morning’s keynote speaker will be Vicky Pryce who will not only forecast the impact of Brexit and look at how we can solve the productivity conundrum, but will frame the need for a new model for public sector procurement and ask how companies can really respond to the social responsibility expectations of the new CCS framework.
Vicky will be followed by Ed Hudson, Head of corporate services at UBS who will look at the impact of Carillion on clients and whether we can expect a major push for in-sourcing now, Jeremy Waud – Chairman at Incentive FM Group who thinks we need to grow up and stop this race to the bottom on price and George McFarlane of
CBI who will explore what will follow PFI. They will set the scene for leading industry thinkers who will join them to debate the issues and suggest their solutions. At the end of this session, delegates will have heard a range of options from which to formulate their plans to deal with all the disruptors currently shaking the industry.
