Mitie painting adds to the pot

Published on 13/07/2014
Mitie has recently been awarded three contracts in its painting business. Combined, the three awards are valued at over £3.75m, and include a contract with the UK’s leading provider of student accommodation, Unite Students, and two social housing contracts with Derwent Living and Gloucester City Homes.
Mitie’s painting business secured a seven-year, £2.5m painting contract with Derwent Living, which includes redecoration and repairs, such as internal and external cyclical decoration, pre-decoration repairs, minor roofing repairs and small works to housing stock located across the East and West Midlands.
The outsourcer was also awarded a social housing contract with Gloucester City Homes, worth £670k over one year. The contract consists of external and internal pre-paint repairs and cyclical decorations to social housing sites located across Gloucestershire.
In addition, Mitie has begun work with Unite Students, which provides a home for 41,000 students across the UK, as part of a one-year, lifecycle painting and flooring contract. Mitie painters and decorators are carrying out the internal painting and decorating to a number of Unite Students’ properties across the West Country and South coast.
Commenting on the contract wins, Kenny Robson, director of Mitie’s painting business, said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded these contracts which play really well to our strengths, particularly in the sectors where we already have a strong presence. These contracts are testament to the hard work of our very talented teams who all contribute to our success and position as a UK-leading painting and decorating business.”
