New laboratory and user tests confirm longevity of Zoono’s efficacy to safeguard surfaces from pathogens for up to 30 days when used in conjunction with best practice hygiene.
Expert cleaning consultants and equipment supplier, Denis Rawlins is pleased to share positive test data confirming the exemplary performance of Zoono Microbe Shield (“Z-71”) against pathogens. Zoono Z-71 is an integral element of Rawlins’ recommended ‘Remove, Improve, Protect’ cleaning strategy against COVID-19, to achieve sterile and near sterile surfaces for up to 30 days.
Once surfaces have been correctly cleaned and improved, the next stage of the Rawlins approach is to protect surfaces using Zoono Z-71 Microbe Shield, as it works for prolonged periods of time.
The additional tests have been carried out under laboratory and real-world conditions, delivering outstanding outcomes over 30-day periods. They further validate Rawlins’ continued support and belief in Zoono and their products.
A water based antimicrobial protectant, Zoono Microbe Shield was shown to be an excellent barrier against various biological agents and here are some of the performance highlights of the tests undertaken:
GTECH Strategies Limited, in conjunction with a UKAS accredited laboratory, treated UK London Underground trains with Z-71 and they remained ‘near sterile’ after 30 days. 72 ‘hot’ touch points across 23 actively used trains were tested, which had been treated with Z-71, 8-30 days prior to analysis. The ensuing results after 30 days indicated:
- No presence of human Covid-19 was detected;
- No presence of E.coli was detected;
- No presence of Staphylococcus was detected in 70 of the 72 tests. In the other two tests, the amount detected was so low it was still described as ‘near sterile’.
Further testing by a UAE Government appointed laboratory conducted durability and efficacy tests which confirmed Z-71 performed at 99.9% efficacy for 30 days after its initial application, against Staphylococcus and E.coli. It performed at greater than 99.9% efficacy on steel, glass, plastics, tile and carpet and greater than 90% efficacy on wood and rubber.
Intertek, a global laboratory chain completed testing on Z-71 against E. Coli, Pseudomonas,
Staphylococcus, Enterococcus, Listeria and Salmonella out to 30 days. In all cases, efficacy at 30 days was greater than 99.99999%.
Intertek’s results also showed that Zoono Alcohol-free Hand Sanitiser GermFree24 meets the requirements of the EN1500 standard for hygienic hand rubs.
There were further positive test results in France confirming viral inactivity post-application of Z-71 according to Standard NF T72-281:11-2014 (applied by nebulisation) for Adenovirus, Norovirus, ECBO Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus hirae, and E.coli.
James White, Managing Director of Denis Rawlins said: “These internationally executed tests confirm emphatically what we already knew about the Zoono brand and its products. It fits with our cleaning ethos of ‘remove, improve and protect’ to really render our surfaces contaminant free.
“If Zoono products are used in tandem with good hygiene practices, their ability to eradicate pathogens from our environmental surfaces and our bodies, make them indispensable hygiene weapons in the war against potential deadly viruses. As COVID-19 is on the rise, this has never been so vital as it is now and we will continue to use, recommend and support Zoono products with confidence.”
