IWFM LAUNCHES DEGREE-LEVEL WORKPLACE QUALIFICATION

The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management’s (IWFM) has launched its newly created Level 6 Diploma in Workplace.

Calling it a “groundbreaking qualification” sixty learners have enrolled in the ‘Level 6 Diploma in Workplace Leadership, Insight and Change’, the degree-level qualification, which supports IWFM’s aspiration to become a chartered professional body.

The qualification builds on a workplace leadership programme launched last summer. Its development was accelerated after senior representatives of HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) attended the three-day event. The resultant insight uncovered a demand for a comprehensive standard of attainment in workplace to support a strategic shift to smarter ways of working. Their people will study for the qualification in three groups, with the first starting yesterday, Thursday 14 November. The diploma will be delivered through a ‘blended learning’ approach, which combines a timetable of face-to-face workshops with self-study, supported by a series of planned webinars and virtual group-work activities

Linda Hausmanis, IWFM CEO commented: “We believe this Level 6 diploma is the first pure workplace qualification of its kind. It is an invaluable addition to this growing discipline. We are talking to many organisations, both public and private sector, who are seeing the tremendous value of the workplace opportunity but require upskilling to seize it.

“This arrangement has enabled us to develop a qualification that will benefit the whole industry, in line with IWFM’s vision for a distinct profession recognised for its ability to enable people to transform organisations and their performance.”

The diploma is a regulated qualification, in line with IWFM’s existing suite of professional qualifications, and will be awarded by IWFM. Delivery is under the banner of the Workplace Leadership Programme in a partnership between IWFM Academy and workplace performance and development specialists 3edges.

This latest offering comes a year to the week since the Institute rebranded from BIFM and resolved to upskill and standardise the profession.
