Portico, a specialist provider of tailored guest services, has been selected to provide a range of resident and guest services at 22 Bishopsgate, the newly constructed vertical village in London that is due to open and become operational in early 2021.
Portico will be responsible for the management of the building’s lobby, taking care of those using the building’s flexible work and event space, provided in partnership with Convene, and dining space across the second-floor food hall, known as The Market.
The company will also manage the Active Commuter Park (ACP), the biggest bike park in London, which offers over 1500 bike spaces as well as bike concierge and rentals, and will be responsible for delivering services including parking, maintenance, emergency kits (e.g. spare tyres, lights etc), laundry and dry cleaning facilities, and locker management.
22 Bishopsgate is London’s first vertical village. It has been created to be a truly active property with a focus on health and wellbeing, technology at its heart, and an ethos that prioritises community, sustainability and CSR. It will provide more than one million square feet of office space as well as more than 150,000 square feet of amenity and community space.
Portico will provide a fully agile team in the lobby and ground floor public walkways. The company will also oversee entry to 22 Bishopsgate’s upper floors, via the building’s touchless and contactless entry system that uses opt-in facial recognition technology and QR codes, in addition to traditional passes.
Danny Lemon, Head of 22 Bishopsgate, said: “Customer service and experience are at the heart of everything we are aiming to achieve at 22 Bishopsgate. Our goal from the outset was to create the place we’d want to work and Portico’s team were very impressive in being able to demonstrate their knowledge and enthusiasm to support that ambition. We’re excited to have them as part of our community and helping to deliver our vision for 22 Bishopsgate.”
