National property service provider Wates Smartspace has completed its second fit out project at Winchester’s Royal Hampshire County Hospital, providing substantial upgrades to the Pathology Department.
Work included upgrading the mechanical and electrical services across two floors and an extension of the suite’s office area. The project will enable the implementation of new specialised equipment serving the hospital’s Blood Sciences departments.
Wates Smartspace was appointed by Hampshire Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust to deliver the fit-out works following its delivery of the new robotic pharmacy, which was completed last year.
The project was procured via the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Construction and Associated Services Agreement, which is designed for the use of all public sector bodies to commission the construction and maintenance of schools, hospitals, universities, prisons, housing and offices.
Scott Camp, Wates Smartspace Managing Director, commented: “We’re delighted to complete another project at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, which will improve key services across the Pathology Department.
“Having only recently completed the robotic pharmacy fit-out at the hospital, we had a solid understanding of our client’s needs, which was fundamental to us delivering the service safely and efficiently, whilst keeping disruption to a minimum.”
Wates Smartspace has worked with a variety of leading pharmaceutical companies, medical research organisations and NHS trusts, as well as banks, retailers, property developers, broadcasters, owners and occupiers of commercial offices and public sector organisations. Project values range from £20,000 to £25m.
