FIRST MATS UNVEILS CHEMICAL SPILLS KITS

First Mats, a trusted UK supplier of safety floor matting and spill control products, has announced the availability of its new range of Chemical Spill Kits. These kits are designed to respond rapidly to emergencies involving chemical spillages in the workplace, containing a selection of high-quality absorbents well suited to working with acids, alkalis, and hazardous chemicals.

Chemical Spill Kits are sets of absorbent materials that allow for a rapid response to chemical spills in the workplace. Unlike standard spill kits, the absorbent materials they are made from are specifically designed to work with chemicals, acids, and alkalis. Strategically placing Chemical Spill Kits near stored chemicals in the warehouse, as you would Fire Extinguishers, allows users to access them quickly and easily, improving workplace safety and reducing potential harm.

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 in the UK mandates that businesses must prevent or control the exposure of hazardous substances. Due to their potential environmental and health impact, chemicals fall under this regulation. Therefore, having a Chemical Spill Kit on-site is a good practice and can help businesses that deal with chemicals in line with safety regulations.

First Mats' Chemical Spill Kits are supplied in a break pack, shoulder bag or plastic drum, providing a convenient and efficient way to respond to chemical spills. The kits include absorbent socks or sausages to contain the spill, several sheets of absorbent pad material to soak up the spill, and waste bags to dispose of the chemicals safely.

Richard O'Connor, Marketing Director at First Mats, said: "Our mission is to provide our customers with products that ensure workplace safety and efficiency. Our new and improved range of Chemical Spill Kits is a significant addition to this mission. They are designed to deal with chemical spills quickly and efficiently, reducing potential harm and contributing to a safer work environment."
