JD Wetherspoon are the only entrant to have been awarded the Overall Loo of the Year Awards Trophy for the third time in its thirty-one-year history. Wetherspoon’s are known for converting unconventional yet attractive premises into pubs which are individually designed. Part of this design is the provision of washrooms that are spacious and meet the needs of all types of users and were the UK’s first pub chain to introduce Changing Places toilets.
Wetherspoons entries gained Platinum Award grade for 90% of its entries, nine national awards and were also awarded Corporate Provider and Space to Change UK trophies.

Virginia Santos, a cleaner for the City of London’s major visitor attractions was awarded the Washroom Cleaner of the Year Award Individual Cleaner National award for England and the overall UK Trophy. Virginia has provided an excellent service to Central London visitors for the past six years. Paultons Park was presented with the In-House Cleaning Team Trophy and Danfo (UK)Ltd gained the External Contractor Team Trophy.
The Deep, a public aquarium situated at Sammy’s Point Hull, and a new single entrant, was the Individual Categories Trophy winner against strong competition form national companies and other major UK and Ireland Trophy Winners including Danfo(UK)Ltd, Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping Centre Doncaster, McDonald’s, Paultons Park, The Phoenix Centre Sandwich and University of Worcester. The winners were selected from entries in sixty-one entry categories across all market sectors.
Guests from throughout the UK, including representatives from leading cleaning and FM companies, attended the special Awards Presentation Event at the four-star St Johns Hotel Solihull. Leading comedian Hal Cruttenden provided comedy as the after-lunch entertainment and guests enjoyed the unrivalled networking opportunities during the supplier exhibition that forms part of the annual event.
The 2018 Awards were run in association with Associate Sponsors Clos-o-Mat, Dolphin Solutions, and Dyson Airblade wash+dry. Leading suppliers Cleen, Danfo and P Wave also supported this year’s Awards.
