Facilities Show 2018 has welcomed comedian and mental health expert Ruby Wax OBE and English rugby legend Sir Clive Woodward to the event’s keynote speaker line-up. Joining Nicky Moffat CBE who was the British Army’s highest ranking female officer, both Ruby and Clive will give fascinating talks on the importance of positive professional environments in sustaining and growing a healthy, happy, high-achieving workforce.
Ruby Wax OBE
Known for being an unconventional interviewer, comedian, writer and actor, Ruby Wax has become a respected and high-profile campaigner for a raising a greater awareness of mental health issues, recently adding best-selling memoirist and qualified mental health expert to her repertoire.
Holding a Masters in Psychology, Ruby is a Visiting Professor in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Surrey, a patron for the British Neuroscience Association, has worked with the Home Office to raise awareness of mental health, and has collaborated with Google on how technology can aid mindfulness. Her acclaimed TED speech on the importance of viewing mental health on a par with physical health is one of the most popular on the subject.
Taking to the Facilities Show Keynote Stage at 11.30am on Tuesday 19th June, Ruby will address the importance of good mental health as well as tackling the problems of communication within businesses and organisations, especially for leaders.
Sir Clive Woodward OBE
We’re excited to welcome English rugby legend and management pioneer, Sir Clive Woodward, to talk about the key attributes needed to create a winning team on and off the pitch; talent, teachability, pressure and will. Universally credited with bringing world-class professionalism, cutting edge techniques and new management skills to English rugby, Clive explains how this back-room expertise can be applied effectively to businesses in preparation for challenging situations and to enable optimum service delivery.
After famously guiding England to victory in the 2003 Rugby World Cup and three Six Nations tournaments, Clive has since served as Director of Sport at the British Olympic Association, working in partnership with UK Sport. During this time, London 2012 produced the most successful British performance of the modern era, with 65 medals including 29 golds.
