BODEN GROUP AWARDED NORTH DEVON ENTERPRISE CENTRE CONTRACT

Boden Group has secured a new contract to manage the building facilities at the North Devon Enterprise Centre, Devon County Council’s flagship development offering high-quality office and collaboration space for entrepreneurs, business start-ups, and small and medium-sized businesses.

The deal, will see the facilities management specialist deliver a system of planned preventative maintenance to ensure the safety and compliance of the building’s heating, electrical distribution, fire, security and CCTV systems, and specialist legionella, air conditioning and F-gas systems.

The environmentally sustainable building meets the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ status with an overall reduction of 25% on its carbon emissions. The buildings energy-efficient lighting, natural daylight compensation and enhanced insulation coupled with electricity produced from a solar PV system dramatically reduces its overall running costs.

Keith Bright, Boden Group’s Operations Director, commented: “I’m thrilled we have been successful in securing this opportunity to support North Devon District Council. Boden is committed to supporting the community from which our own business has grown, and the Enterprise Centre gives us a great opportunity to do this.”

Construction of the Node building on Devon County Council’s Roundswell Enterprise Park was completed in January and has space for 37 small and medium offices, a coworking space for up to 50 people and several meeting rooms. It aims to boost the local economy and create jobs in Torridge and North Devon by supporting potential high-growth and start-up businesses.

Julian Dymond, Community Manager at TownSq, the company that will be operating the centre, said: “Boden Group have an excellent reputation due to the strong standards they place in their work. I’m looking forward to working with them again as they help us to turn Node into a thriving space for start-ups and small businesses.”
