Senior appointment supports equality diversity ambitions

Emma Walker (pictured second from right)

Emma Walker has stepped up to the role of Managing Director at security specialists, Ashridge Group.

As the company enhances its senior capabilities, it is also looking to build on the value of its ‘people first, security second’ ethos, which focuses on prioritising its own employees’ needs to deliver customer service excellence.

With her strong people management skills and depth of understanding of the industry, Emma is set to redress the gender divide in this traditionally male dominated sector.

“Broadly speaking, the business case for parity is understood, and those in pursuit of it are very much on the right path to success,” said Emma Walker.

Previously working as the company’s Operations Director, Emma’s enviable track record combines achievements in security and business continuity planning with extensive expertise in managing a range of personal, resilience, major site and asset protection operations.

As chair of Herts Crimestoppers, she is also involved in driving various community safety projects forward, including work for the charity’s ‘Fearless’ dedicated youth service, where she has led various safety training and awareness initiatives designed to encourage and empower young people to make their community a safer place.

Emma concluded: “We need more women in security, especially in senior roles, and I will be looking at ways in which we can help to encourage and nurture more women in this area to make a positive change to the status quo.”
