Kier Workplace Services increases footprint in Wales

Kier, a property, residential and services group has secured two new contracts in Wales, strengthening its facilities management offering in the region.

A contract with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, covering total FM, will see Kier providing a combination of facilities management services – including reactive works, cleaning, security and help desk service – at approximately 35 offices, depots and treatment works across Wales.

The contract, which started earlier this month, will run for an initial three-year period, with options to extend for a further four years. Kier has also won a three-year contract with Gyrfa Cymru Careers Wales, an organisation providing all age, independent and impartial careers information, advice and guidance service for Wales.

This contract started in October with Kier providing cleaning services to approximately 28 offices across the Gyrfa Cymru Careers Wales estate.

Kier was awarded this contract via the National Procurement Services framework, set up to enable the Welsh public sector to collaborate more closely in procuring goods and services.

Kier already delivers facilities management services throughout Wales, including for the Welsh Government, Cardiff County Council, Powys County Council, Welsh Blood and the Welsh Ambulance Service.

Steve Davies, Managing Director of Kier Workplace Services said: “We’re proud to have won these two new contracts, which build on our expertise in delivering projects for public and private sector clients across Wales.

“We’re looking forward to working with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and Gyrfa Cymru Careers Wales, using our experience to deliver a range of facilities management services, leaving them free to focus on their strategic business goals.”
