New Appointments for BIFM

The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) has announced the appointment of Jacqueline Balian as Commercial Director.

Jacqueline joins BIFM to further strengthen the senior management team at the institute led by Linda Hausmanis; Chief Executive Officer.

Alongside Linda, Jacqueline will help define BIFM’s future strategic direction to address new opportunities and challenges facing the sector, including meeting shifting customer expectations, attracting and nurturing talent, and adopting new practices and tools that support greater productivity and organisational performance.

Jacqueline brings extensive experience in the property and construction sectors, most recently as Commercial Director at the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) where she was responsible for improving and growing the institute’s member services.

Prior to this she was Head of Renewable Heat Incentive Operations at Ofgem and was Managing Director at the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers’ commercial arm CIBSE Services, where she devised and led the rollout of key initiatives including the Low Carbon Assessor Scheme.

BIFM CEO, Linda Hausmanis, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Jacqueline to the team.  Her experience and expertise will be a great asset to BIFM and to our membership.

“Jacqueline will play a major role in shaping our future products and services, but she’ll also help us develop our strategy to provide the leadership our industry needs to adopt new methods and technologies that, ultimately, support greater workplace productivity.”

Jacqueline’s appointment also comes at a critical time for the institute as it continues to build momentum around workplace performance, education and raising standards across the sector.
