Peter Tayar-Watson joins Macro from General Electric

Macro, Mace’s facilities management business, has appointed Peter Tayar-Watson as Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QSHE) Performance Director. Peter will lead the QHSE team and work across the company to drive performance improvements and enhance standards on Macro’s projects, programmes and contracts.

Peter has over 20 years’ experience in health, safety and environment (HSE), working within both the industrial and commercial property sectors globally. He joins Macro from General Electric where he worked initially in the Energy Services division before moving into Corporate Properties group, managing HSE across a global portfolio. In his most recent role as Global Properties EHS Leader for General Electric, Peter was responsible for around 1000 offices serving over 100,000 employees.

Peter will be based at Macro’s head office in London and work across the global Macro business, supported by team members in each regional hub. His role will be key to delivering Macro’s 2022 responsible business strategy; with a focus on enhancing Macro’s world leading approach to health and safety, promoting wellbeing across the business, leading on environmental improvement and overall quality performance improvement.

Peter Tayar-Watson, Macro’s QSHE Performance Director, said: “I want to build on Macro’s existing well-earned reputation for delivering excellence to our clients and protecting their property, people, and reputations. This goes beyond compliance to a culture of good practice and proactive engagement with our own employees and our supply chain.

“Macro is going through an exciting period of international growth, so it is a vital time for us to enhance our consistency and efficiency and strengthen our culture of safety and quality.”

Ross Abbate, Macro’s Managing Director said: “I am thrilled to have Peter join Macro and bring with him his wealth of international experience within the health, safety and environment sector. I have no doubt that Peter will play a key role in delivering our new 2022 strategy and will help us uphold our promise to be a responsible business. I would like to extend a warm welcome to Peter, and look forward to working with him.”
